The Ballard High School lacrosse team's two-game winning streak came to a halt April 9 in an 11-6 loss to Mercer Island.

Goalie Hannah Breton had 20 saves, but the Beavers simply allowed too many shots on goal.

Mercer Island got off 31 shots. Ballard averages 23.5 shots allowed per game.

Jayne Barnes did her best to keep her team in it, scoring a team-high four goals.

Kelsey Barta and Maddie Soukup added a goal each.

Ballard (2-3) takes on winless North Kitsap at 5:45 p.m. on April 12 at North Kitsap High School.
