Freshman pitcher Andrew Jewett had five strikeouts but gave up 10 hits in Ballard's 4-0 loss to Eastlake April 23.
After coming out on the right side of two close games this week, the Ballard High School softball team ran out of clutch hitting against Eastlake April 23.
Freshman pitcher Andrea Jewett was able to get out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the first inning, and the game was tied at zero until the fifth inning.
Eastlake put up three runs in the fifth and added a fourth in the sixth to earn a 4-0 win. Ballard was shutout for the first time this season.
In their least productive offensive game this year, the Beavers tallied only two hits to Eastlake's 10.
The loss ended Ballard's two-game win streak and dropped them to 3-5 in KingCo and 7-5 overall.
The Beavers' next game is against Redmond at 4:30 p.m. on April 26 at Redmond High School,
