Fatal Car Accident

A 23 year-old Des Moines man died this morning when his car left the roadway and struck a tree. He died shortly after he was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The incident happening this morning (June 10th) about 1:15 AM. Witnesses reported seeing the man leave the Mt. View Elementary parking lot at a high rate of speed. The school is located in White Center at SW 108th and 12th Ave SW. When the vehicle got to the 800 block of SW 108th it crossed over into the westbound land of travel then struck a raised curb and a large tree. The collision caused massive damage to the left front of the car, a 1995 Ford Explorer. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Detectives believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

Candidate for County Prosecutor arrested at SeaTac

David Russell Fox, a lawyer running for Clallam County prosecutor, has been arrested for investigation of DUI and three drug charges. Fox was booked into King County Jail after he allegedly brandished a knife at a ticket agent at SeaTac Airport. Bail was set at $3,000. Fox was in the news recently over allegations he sexually harassed a male client. A Port of Seattle police report stated authorities were called after a man repeatedly pulled out a knife and was asking “weird questions” Fox returned to his truck, which was parked on the airport drive. An officer pulled him over and noted he was unsteady on his feet, and Fox kept saying over and over that he is an attorney and they had no right to stop him.

Electronics stolen from home

A home on the 13200 block of 10th Avenue South was burglarized. The air conditioner that was set in a window was removed and the suspect(s) were able to gain access to the home. The homeowner reported their laptops and TV’s were stolen.

Debit card fraud

A man reported that he had left his debit card in the ATM at Fred Meyer in Burien, and his bank notified him that there had been access activity on his account since then. Fraudulent transactions had been made at Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Walgreen’s.

Residential break-in

Police were advised by a neighbor living across the street that a home in the 600 block of S 188th Street had been broken into. The reporter said that a red Chevy SUV had backed into the neighbor’s driveway, and a suspect wearing a black baseball cap kicked in the door of the home, stealing several items. No arrest has been made.
