This weekend seems to have been selected by a number of good causes as the right time for fundraising so if you can make it to all of them you should or pick at least one to throw your support behind to offer some help.

ECOSS Garage Sale
ECOSS in South Park is holding a community Garage Sale on Saturday at Duwamish Waterway Park, 7900 10th Ave. S from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
Proceeds from the garage sale will go towards establishing WiFi internet access along the 14th Avenue retail corridor. All items that do not sell will be donated to the Providence Regina House.

Jarod Newlove family benefit
A benefit to support the family of fallen West Seattle sailor Jarod Newlove is taking place at Alki Crab and Fish, adjacent to the Water Taxi dock on Harbor Avenue at 1660 Harbor Ave. S.W. All proceeds from the sale of beer and wine between 5pm and 10pm will go to support the family. Live music will start at around 6pm with a duo performing 60's and 70's hits.

Walk on Jayme
The "Walk on Jayme" fundraiser is happening on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Rocksport Bar and Grill and 4209 Southwest Alaska from 7:30pm to 2:00am. This event will support Jayme Miller who was stricken with a rare disease that left her paralyzed. She's recovering, but slowly.

Cystic Fibrosis Car Wash
A car wash will be sudsing up cars and trucks to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis at West Seattle Produce at 4721 Fauntleroy Way S.W on Saturday lead by Becky and Colin Puckett. There's a minimum $5 donation but you drive away with a sparkling clean vehicle.
