Volleyball
Emerald Ridge 3, Mt. Rainier 0
The Rams absorbed a 25-11, 25-13, 25-21 loss at the hands of the Jaguars last Monday.
Kathleen Mulligan scored four digs and five digs for Mount Rainier in the loss as Mykaela Klinger added four kills, one ace and one block.
Vanessa Hoefs had three digs and one kill and Megan Daley one dig, one kill and six assist,
Tuesday, Sept. 21
Girls swimming
Mt. Rainier 101, Kennedy 85
Courtney Larson, Mackenzie Marrs, Megan Kawaguchi and Jackie Beal won the opening 200-yard medley relay race for the Rams in 1 minute, 56.67seconds last Tuesday and Erin Anderson of Kennedy Catholic took the 200 freestyle in 2:03.25. Amanda Thach won the 200 individual medley for JFK in 2:17.59 and Mount Rainiers' Kawaguchi took the 50 free in 25.89.
Kennedy scored 207.70 points as a team to win the diving competition and the Rams' Kawaguchi won the 100 butterfly in a state-qualifying 1:00.87. Thach won the 100 free for JFK in a state-qualifying time of 55.21 and Vanessa Moffatt won the 500 free for the Lancers in 5:16.65 to qualify for state in that event.
The Mount Rainier foursome of Bernie Ward, Rachel Webster, Rachel Althauser and Jackie Beal won the 200 free relay in 1:49.25. Courtney Larson of Mount Rainier took the 100 backstroke in 1:03.31 and teammate Marrs took the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.43. Erica Young, Kawaguchi, Larson and Marrs of the Rams won the final 400 free relay in 3:48.58.
The two rival teams are now split up as far as member leagues are concerned. Mount Rainier moved up to the Class 4A South Puget Sound League while Kennedy remains a member of the 3A Seamount League.
Wednesday, Sept. 22
Volleyball
Kentlake 3, Mt. Rainier 1
Mount Rainier was dealt a 26-24, 25-18, 17-25, 25-20 loss by the Falcons last Wednesday.
Mulligan came through with seven digs, one block and 14 kills and Hoefs had three aces, six digs, two blocks and two kills. Klinger had three blocks and five kills to her credit and Daley amassed four digs, four kills and 18 assists. Amanda Goucher racked up one ace, nine digs and five kills and Jackie Agusto had 15 assists.
Thursday, Sept. 23
Volleyball
Evergreen 3, Foster 0
Evergreen posted a shutout win against the Bulldogs last Thursday.
Linda Ba had 11 digs and 11 aces for Foster, while Carolena Siliaga had 26 assists and five aces, Brianna Faiso eight kills and Siatunuu nine kills and three aces.
Kennedy 3, Hazen 0
Kennedy won big over the Highlanders last Thursday.

Foster 5, Evergreen 0
The Bulldogs carried the day against Evergreen Thursday.
Hazen 2, Highline 1
The Pirates were edged by one goal against Hazen last Thursday.
Kentridge 6, Mt. Rainier 2
Mount Rainier was blasted by the Chargers last Thursday.

The Bulldogs won a high-scoring match against the Pirates last Thursday.

Highline beat Renton by a point in Seamount League action Friday.
The Pirates come home to play Lindbergh at 7 p.m. Thursday.

What has been the big game in recent years turned into a rout Friday, when Kennedy defeated the Wolverines, 62-0.
