Girls swimming
Mt. Rainier 121, Beamer 65
The Rams rolled past Todd Beamer, 121-65, in girls swimming action Tuesday, Oct. 5.
Mount Rainier opened by winning the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 58.19 seconds with Courtney Larson, Mackenzie Marrs, Megan Kawaguchi and Jackie Beal doing the honors.
Beal then won the 200 freestyle race in 2:08.40 and Kawaguchi took the 200 individual medley in 2:17.37.
Kawaguchi was also the winner of the 100 butterfly in 1:03.03 and Erica Young took first in the 500 freestyle in 5:48.90. Larson was the winner of the 100 backstroke in 1:03.54 and Marrs won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.65.
Kawaguchi, Larson, Young and Marrs capped off the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:55.25.

The Pirates plastered the Wolverines in a Seamount League match last Tuesday.

The Bulldogs were blanked by Lindbergh last Tuesday.

The Rams took last Wednesday's match by a 25-23, 25-18, 17-25, 25-15 score.
Kathleen Mulligan recorded six digs, one block and nine kills for the Rams' cause and Amanda Goucher had three digs and three kills with Olivia Moss scoring one ace, four digs and three kills. Madi Dorhofer had two aces, two digs and five kills and Vanessa had three digs and three kills. Mykaela Klinger scored one ace, three blocks and three kills and Jenna Nye one ace, six digs and 14 assists. Megan Daley was also strong in assists with 11 and she also had six digs, 11 assists and four kills. Jackie Agusto had 11 digs.
Thursday, Oct. 7
Girls swimming
Kennedy 96, Hazen 90
Thach, Anderson, Moffatt and Crockett won the 200 medley relay to send the Lancers on their way to victory, posting a time of 1:57.67. Moffatt then took the 200 freee in a state qualifying 2:01.88 and Knox scored 212.65 points to win diving.
Thach was the winner of the 500 free in 5:27.36 and later Thach took the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.44. Crockett, Moffatt, Anderson and Thach combined to win the 400 free relay in 3:58.84.

Football
Foster 48, Evergreen 20
After playing to a scoreless tie over the first quarter, Foster outscored the Wolverines, 28-0, in the second quarter to get started on its way to victory.
Tuifua Tausinga scored the first two touchdowns by catching passes of 6 and 15 yards from Aaron Rodriguez. Rodriguez later fired off touchdowns of 15 and 37 yards to Gabe Gutierrez.
Kennedy 27, Renton 20
L.J. Jennings carried the ball 18 times for 183 yards and three touchdowns as the Lancers of Kennedy Catholic held off Renton, 27-20, Saturday.
Jennings scoed the only touchdown of the first quarter on an 8-yard run with 1:12 left on the clock. The kick for the extra point failed, and Marcus Clinton caught a 19-yard pass from Zane Brown for Renton. Brian Diaz booted the extra point to make it a 7-6 game in favor of Renton.
Renton then struck again at 25 seconds to play before halftime, when Clinton threw a 10-yard touchdown pass for P.J. Benedictus. Renton's kick failed to leave the halftime score 13-6 in favor of Renton.
Jennings put Kennedy back on the scoreboard 16 seconds into the third quarter with a 58-yard touchdown run and Nick Armitage's kick was good to tie it at 13-13. Jennings then tacked on an 8-yard touchdown run at 4:15 to play in the third quarter, with a run for two extra points failing.
Renton then scored with seven seconds to play in the third quarter. Robert Reeves did the scoring honor on a 61-yard fumble return. Diaz kick was good to make it 20-19 in favor of Renton, but JFK's Chandler Breaux returned a fumble 8 yards for a touchdown with 3:19 left in the fourth quarter and Jennings ran for a two-point conversion to put the final winning margin at 27-20.
Ian Nobmann joined Jennings' rushing parade with 15 catches for 118 yards.
