Not guilty plea in attack of two Muslim women
A Burien woman has pleaded not guilty to two counts of malicious harassment, which is a hate crime, after an alleged attack on two Muslim women at a Tukwila gas station. Jennifer Leigh Jennings, 37, is accused of verbally and physically attacking two women who were buying gas at the Arco station at South 154th Street and International Boulevard. Imaan and her aunt Maryon, who are Somali, said Jennings walked up to them and called them a terrorist. "She was saying you're a suicide bomber and you don't know how to pump gas. You need to go back to your country!" Imaan said. According to Imaan, Jennings then went to the driver's side of the car and slammed the door on her aunt's foot as she was trying to get out of the car. Imaan said Jennings pulled off part of her aunt's headscarf.
