Police Blotter: Robbery at a medical marijuana dispensary; several businesses burglarized

8 p.m. on Dec 6. 400 block of N 36TH ST
On 10:30 p.m an officer responded to a robbery call in Fremont at a medicinal marijuana dispensary. The surveillance cameras and the on-duty clerk revealed that the robbery occurred nearly two hours prior to the officer’s arrival and the suspects had left the scene.
The clerk said that two male suspects had entered the dispensary and asked to see some product. The clerk showed the suspects several different types of marijuana. They expressed interest and said they would be back after visiting an ATM for cash. The dispensary was very busy with several customers in the waiting area.
At 8 p.m. the men returned but this time they were the only people in the waiting room. Again, they asked if they could buy some marijuana. After viewing several products over several minutes, the clerk turned to the store room to retrieve marijuana for the
suspects. One of the men locked the door to the waiting room, preventing other customers from entering and as the clerk turned around to retrieve the marijuana, the other man jumped through the small opening between the waiting room and the office area and engaged in a struggle. The man held the clerk in a bear hug while the other man punched the clerk in the face several times with a closed fist.
The clerk tried to deploy mace, but he didn't know how to work the device.
After being punched in the face several times, the clerk became compliant
and sat in a chair.
The men stole an estimated 10-12lbs of medicinal marijuana and transported it back through the window to the waiting area.They also stole a laptop, thinking it contained the hard-drive for the surveillance system, and disabled several of the cameras by ripping the cords from the cameras.
Both suspects fled the area in an unknown direction by unknown means.
The clerk said he recognized both suspects as known customers and
would look through his paperwork to find their ID & Medicinal Marijuana
Cards.
Suspect 1 is described as a light skinned muscular build male between the age of 20 and 30, 6 foot 2 and 220lbs. He also had a beard and goatee muscular build and was wearing a black beanie, beige zip up fleece, dark jeans and black & white sneakers.
Suspects 2 is a think build, dark skinned male between the age of 20 and 30, 5 foot 8. 160lbs, He also had a beard and goatee, a shaved head and was wearing s black puffy hooded jacket.
11:45 p.m. Dec 2nd. 2400 block of N.W. Market St
A commercial burglary along the popular street was reporter on Thursday morning. Overnight, unknown suspects cut the hasp from a door to the shop/garage area and made entry.
Security video footage shows three suspects arriving at the location in a white van.
Two or three suspects entered the building and then the van drove away. The
van was seen circling the area and returning after three hours during which time the suspects appeared to remain in the building.
Taken from the building were approximately $2500-$3000 worth of assorted
tools.
6 p.m. Dec 3rd. 1400 block of N.W. 51st Street.
On Saturday morning, a woman arrived for work to find that the plate glass to the business' side door had been smashed in. She called 911 to report her findings.
A police officer noticed that the phone lines at the rear of the business were severed.
Inside however, nothing appeared to have been disturbed or missing. Desktop computers, a laptop computer, and other electronics were all in plain view and untouched.
When the business owner arrived, he discovered that a cash box in a locked desk
drawer was missing. The burglar had apparently relocked the drawer upon
removing the cash box.
There is no suspect information at this time.
9 p.m. Dec 1st. 8600 block of Fremont Avenue N.
Another business was burglarized on Fremont Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) entered the building and the administrative office was ransacked. It did not appeared to have been a forced entry and while suspects left a messy scene, nothing appeared to be missing.
6:24 p.m. on Dec 6. 6500 block of Phinney Ave N
On Friday morning a woman left her apartment and locked the door as usual. When she returned that afternoon she immediately noticed a bunch of grapes missing from her counter.
The victim stated that she lives alone and has no idea who may have entered her
apartment or how they gained access to the unit. She stated that twice in the past two years, similar incidents have occurred, once cash was taken and once only a bed sheet was stolen.
The police officer advised her to report the matter to the manager and ask him to have her locks changed.
8 a.m. on Nov 30th. 6700 block of 19th Avenue N.
A woman came home in the afternoon and noticed the lights were on. When she went inside, she noticed that someone had gone through the dresser drawers in both bedrooms and in the office. She called her husband who noticed that the basement door had been kicked in. At the time of the report the victims had not yet been able to
determine what all was taken. Officer conducted a search for fingerprints but no usable prints were located.
Around 4:20 p.m. Dec 6, 2010. 9000 block of 3rd Avenue N.W.
A shed on a homeowner’s property was broken into over the weekend and the victim reported that the only missing items were documents.
The victim has previously reported identity theft but at the time of the report it was unsure if the crimes were related.
1:45 p.m. Nov 30th. 6200 block of 1st Avenue N.W.
Returning home after work, a woman approached the front door of her house when she observed that the upstairs bedroom light was lit. She knew the light had been off when she left the house. She reached the front porch and saw the front door was slightly ajar. She could also see a change jar and jewelry box lying on the floor in front of the door. Fearing her house had been burglarized, she asked a few male neighbors to search the house for a possible intruder. After none was located, she called 911 to report the crime.
The suspect(s) had entered the house through a window using a ladder left leaning
against the house. The victim stated that much of her jewelry was taken as were her house keys and her car. A credit card statement was also taken.
