Up to here with politicians; What they do is what matters

Dear Editor-
I think that I fell asleep several months ago and woke up on another planet. I am in George Castanza's "Bizarro World".
Judge Micheal Heavy can "forget" about judicial ethics and and get off scott free because the people that evaluated his missuse of his judicial robes are also judges and lawyers. For god's sakes, the man took time and resources from us all when he had his staff research and type his letters to the courts of Italy. I wonder how he might react if a Judge in Italy did not like how he was running one of his trials in a case against an Italian national here and they tried to interfere.
Representative Rangle can cheat on his taxes and lie about his income for 17 years and he gets censured. What the heck is censured? Go to your room without dessert? At a minimum he should be tried for fraud and tax evasion. Oops. Excuse me. The people that judged him were peers. I wonder if they were afraid that they might get caught at something similar and want to be judged lightly too. tsk tsk How can I possibly think that? Yeah...right.
The House and Senate is arguing about who has the power now and who can force someone else to bend to their will. Are they all forgetting that most of them were on duty when this terrible economic disaster occurred? They were the ones that passed legislation to let it happen. Ohhh I am sorry. It wasn't THOSE politicians to the right...it was those way over THERE to the left. God bless them all.
Who else remembers that aside form his abhorrent sexual behavior, President Clinton left office with a surplus budget. Then the newly elected Republican President Bush refunded that back to the population along with a tax cut, and followed up later by handing over 700 Billion dollars to the financial institutions that caused their own bankruptcy? And lest we forget, there was no accounting for that 700 Billion either. No one knew where it went and they still don't know. Didn't it occur to any of them that it might be a good idea to apply it to the deficit?
Republicans and Democrats alike need to understand that this recent election was not about one side or the other being better at running the government. This recent election was the second half of a movement. The first half was when we voted out loads of Republicans. We did not do it because we thought the Democrats were better. We did it because there were more Republicans. This time things were no better so we went after the Democrats and not because the Republicans are better. I do not think that it takes an over abundance of brain cells to figure that we all are tired of politicians that lie, cheat, steal (what else do you call ear marks?) and spend all their time trying to look good in front of reporters. We are sick of the whole lot of you. Is that not simple enough for a politician to understand?
To all the politicians. Your re-election is of no matter to me. What you do while in office matters a great deal.
Anyone want to guess why they won't vote in term limits? You gotta love their retirement plan and health care plans though.
With a nod to Jonathan Swift, I'd suggest a recipe for eating politicians but I have discovered that there is not an ounce of nutrition in most of them. Just lots of hot air, bluster, and BS.
