Police Blotter: A not so merry Christmas

7:48 a.m. on December 24th. 6500 block of 52nd Ave NE.
A home being remodeled was burgled on Christmas Eve. Workers stated they left the premises around 2:30 p.m. on December 23, locking up the home as they left. Upon arriving on the 24th, workers noticed the back door had been forced open and several hand tools were missing.
7 p.m. on December 25th 100 block of N.W. 85TH ST
A little before 7 p.m. on Christmas Day, an Asian male teenager walked into a store on 1st Ave N.W. and N.W. 85th carrying a steak knife and demanded money from a clerk.
The police report states that when the clerk refused, the teen said "I am serious, I am attempting to rob you. Call the Police."
"I can call the police for you, you don't have to do this though," the clerk responded.
Before the teen could further his demand, an elderly Asian female came into the store and said she was the teen's mother.
The woman and the teen got into an argument and then the woman told the clerk her son had mental problems.
The woman took her son out of the store and walked off.
The clerk reported the incident to the police, who were unable to locate the suspect.
9:21 a.m. on December 27th. 8500 block of Phinney Ave N.
When officers arrived at the 8500 block of Phinney Ave N. on December 27th, they were informed that the office building had been broken into. The victim stated he hadn’t been to the office since 1:00 p.m. on December 23rd. When he arrived again at the premises he noticed the back door wide open and a flat screen TV missing. Also taken were three laptops, a projector and an electronic scale. While there was no physical damage to anything in the office, files and papers had been thrown all over the floor. Police and the victim believe and ex-employee, who had been fired in November and never returned the key, may be responsible. No fingerprints were left at the scene, however.
12:38 p.m. on December 27th. 4700 block of 25th Ave NE.
Officers arrived at a local hotel on 25th Ave NE in response to a reported burglary. The victim stated he checked into the hotel on December 26th in the afternoon. He reported he was new to the area and trying to rent an apartment using $3500 he had saved and brought with him in the form of $100 bills. The victim claimed he left the money on the night stand while leaving to look for apartments. It was reported that the victim returned at 7:00 p.m. and went to bed at 11:45 p.m. After waking early that morning, the money was discovered missing at 11:00 a.m. The victim reported the chain lock on the door was broken upon check-in but his door had been dead bolted during the night. No video cameras are present on the premises and police have no suspects.
1:13 a.m. on December 27th. 5200 block of 15th Ave NE.
Police responded to a private residence on the 5200 block of 15th Ave on December 27th to a possible burglary in progress. The victim stated that just a few minutes before police arrived, he was upstairs in his room when he heard footsteps. The victim went downstairs to investigate and discovered his back door ajar and the adjacent window wide open. Victim immediately called 911. No damage to door or window was reported and the residence was clear when police arrived.
1:59 p.m. on December 27th. 4500 block of 15th Ave NE.
On December 27th police were dispatched to a church located on 15th Ave NE to investigate a burglary. The youth pastor at the church reported the incident and told police that the suspects had smashed a window on the eastside of the building and entered the premises. Victim reported a laptop computer, WII video game with four controllers, candy bars and some change stolen. No evidence or visible fingerprints were left behind at the scene.
