The Link Apartments, and Harbor Properties are busy adding murals to the stairwells of the new property in a cooperative effort with the Twilight Artists Collective. Full artist profiles are available on the The Link Apartments website.
The artists from Twilight working on this phase of the artwork are Erin Staffeld, Curtis Ashby and John Osgood.
Twilight was hired to curate the entire building and they put together a "mural team" for the stairwells. Staffeld said, "We've been working with The Link architects for the last year coming up with an overall feel and they really wanted us to focus on urban, reusable, neighborhood driven art and design. The three of us put our heads together, and along with the architects talked about some kind of iconic imagery for urban street art, but we also wanted it to be representative of outdoors. The higher ups at Harbor really wanted to plug the outdoors, getting outdoors, walking vs. driving, so we thought …birds, flowers, wind to bring the outdoors in and to encourage people to use the stairs instead of the elevator."
Osgood is one of the owners of Bherd Studios in Greenwood.
The painting should be complete by the end of February.
The Apartments themselves are up to 28 units leased with more pending and in the next two weeks they plan to debut a feature on their website that will allow people an overhead view of a unit in which they can select and arrange furniture to help them plan their space.
