Locally homegrown TV pilot, The Divine Marigolds, who are gearing up to pitch their locally written, produced, and performed show to Hollywood, have big plans for Irish Week!

The show, which is an off kilter family comedy about an large Irish American family living in Seattle, was created by a team of 5 local producers, Jeremiah Kaynor, Will Chase, Jordin Mitchel, Alder Sherwood and Lisa Coronado.

The Divine Marigolds TV show has gained momentum as a homegrown show. Their mission is to create a network TV show that is ripe with local crew, actors, creators and producers. We are here to prove that Seattle is a wonderful home for a TV show that is actually shot here. “The community has stepped up and is behind us. It is amazing. Seattle is ready to prove it can self-sustain a big show.” Washington State is facing tough times as they go up for renewal on their tax credit. (HB 1554 and SB 5539; the legislation to renew the Motion Picture Competitiveness Program-Please contact your local representative in Olympia!) “Its time to get a Northern Exposure back in Seattle. With Portland doing Porlandia and Leverage and another show premiering, actors are driving down to Portland weekly to audition. It is time to get a show here” says Chase, who is a working Seattle Producer.

“We are gearing up to have a network show on TV and the support of the community has been tremendous. We have created characters and a show that represent the spirit of the Irish living today in Seattle. It transcends cultures and translates to a joie de vivre, no matter the hard times.”
says Sherwood. "People are so proud of their Irish heritage, regardless of how small or far removed they are. To tap into that strong sense of self and family is so exciting as filmmakers and we are having so much fun living through these characters", says Coronado.

The Divine Marigolds will be marching in the annual Seattle St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
March 12th at 12:30 pm. Next they will be heading over to the Seattle Center for Irish Festival 2011! Come get autographs and stickers from the cast, enter a drawing to win a walk on role, learn about the show and celebrate being Irish!
