Admiral resident Shelley Lebert will hold a "West Seattle Neighborhood Garage Sale for our Friends in Japan". The Garage Sale will be held Saturday, April 2nd, and Sunday, April 3rd, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The address for dropping off donations, and of the garage sale itself is: 3014 45th Ave S.W, Seattle 98116.
Shelley explains:
People must write their suggested asking price on the item and we will have the discretion to lower the price if need be to sell the item. There will be several homes on this block hosting this event, and Admiral Starbucks will provide coffee carafes and we will have Rachel's home-baked cookies! All Proceeds will go to the American Red Cross for the people affected by the earthquake/tsunami and checks will be made out to them. I have contacted the ARC regarding tax write-offs but have not heard back from them...probably Monday. For those who absolutely cannot drop things off, or for bigger items, we will have a single truck. We welcome all of West Seattle to participate even though it will be held on our block. Perhaps even other blocks in our community might do the same thing this day. It could get bigger. All items donated and not sold during the garage sale, must either be picked up by the donator at the end of the garage sale 4 p.m. on Sunday or we will transport them to our local Goodwill. Children may also be involved by writing letters or drawing pictures or giving some of their toys to the children in Japan. We will make sure those get to the appropriate place.
SIncerely,
Shelley Lebert
