Working hard to hang out in a backyard, an unknown suspect kicked down two padlocked fences to get into the yard of a house on the 6300 block of 34th Ave s.w. on April 24. The unknown suspect did not take anything or attempt to get inside the house.

Standing at the bus stop on Delridge Way s.w. and Croft Pl. s.w., two female acquaintances were approached by an unknown man who pulled out a black “possibly semi-automatic” pistol and pointed it directly at a woman’s face. He said, “Give me your purse. Give me your (expletive) purse!” The woman gave him her purse and her acquaintance handed over her backpack. The suspect got into the passenger side of a black SUV and took off – long gone before the police arrived.

On April 25 a woman returned to her home on the 3800 block of 21st Ave s.w. (around 5 p.m.) and quickly realized several things were out of place. She backed out of the house and called 911. Police checked the house for suspects, found it clear, and the investigation turned up over $2,000 in stolen electronics. The woman believes one of her children forgot to lock the front door when they left a few hours earlier. Interestingly, she received a phone call from a Subway sandwich shop on 1st Ave S while away from the house (she missed the call, but found it strange since she doesn’t know anyone from that store) and her husband said someone had tried to kick in their front patio door in recent weeks, but was unsuccessful.

A witness saw a man jump the five-foot wrought-iron fence of a business on the 9200 block of Delridge Way s.w. shortly after 4 a.m. on April 23. He witnessed the black male wearing a black sweatshirt, white baseball cap and white shoes rummage through the bed of a red pickup truck. He took several items from the bed and placed them at the base of the fence before climbing out and walking away. Police tracked the suspect down and took him into custody but later released him because although he had moved things, he never took anything.
