Celebrate the summer race season in Puget Sound and join the many women who have already registered for the SheRox Triathlon Series, to be held July 10 in Federal Way, WA.
This is the sixth year that an all-women’s triathlon has been held in Federal Way, but the first year the race has been under the SheROX Triathlon Series umbrella. SheROX is the fastest-growing all-women’s sprint triathlon series in the country, with events this year in nine cities in the U.S. and Bermuda.
Race participants range in age from 18 to 67, and several are traveling from as far away as Virginia to compete in this year’s event - a combination of swimming, biking and running.
More than just a race, the SheROX Triathlon Series provides a supportive environment for women of all ages, fitness levels and athletic abilities. The race can be run individually or as part of a relay team with friends and family. The triathlon also includes a Survivor Wave, which is open to women in all stages of cancer recovery and treatment.
A new feature this year is the popular SheROX Mentor Program, developed to ensure that all participants, particularly first-timers, have a positive event experience. The SheROX Mentor Program pairs race participants with experienced and enthusiastic female triathletes who
provide tips and encouragement during training and on race day.
The SheROX Federal Way race weekend begins Sat., July 9, with the MultiSport Experience, a free expo held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Steel Lake Park in Federal Way. Open to the public and mandatory for race participants, the Expo includes clinics, product demonstrations and bargains on gear and apparel. Course talks throughout the day will provide tips on triathlon basics and race strategies. Participants can also pick up race packets, t-shirts and bags.
