Many of you are wondering if you can use fireworks in your area on the Fourth of July. Fireworks are prohibited in many of our contract cities (see list attached) but are allowed in unincorporated King County. Keep in mind that only “common fireworks” are legal to possess and use in Unincorporated King County.

What is the definition of a “common firework? A “common firework” is defined by the King County Code as any firework designed primarily to produce visible or audible effects by combustion. A “common fireworks” does NOT include fireworks commonly known as firecrackers, salutes, chasers, skyrockets and missile type rockets.
