Football
Friday is the annual Huling Bowl, where West Seattle battles close rival Chief Sealth.
The action kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Southwest Athletic Complex field across the street from Chief Sealth, with West Seattle serving as the host team.
Mount Rainier, meanwhile, will be at Highline Memorial playing Tahoma in a 7 p.m. game that day and Kennedy Catholic visits Kentwood at 6 p.m. Saturday at French Field next to Kent-Meridian High School.
Foster travels to White River in Buckley and Evergreen to Franklin Pierce in Parkland to battle Washington at 7 p.m. Friday. Highline journeys all the way to Chehalis to play W.F. West at the same time.
Volleyball
West Seattle gets a 6 p.m. visit from Bainbridge on Wednesday and Chief Sealth hosts Seattle Prep at 7 p.m.
At 7 p.m. Friday Chief Sealth is at Blanchet and West Seattle at Holy Names.
Evergreen travels to Washington and Foster to White River for 7:15 p.m. action Thursday as Highline drops in on nearby rival Tyee.
Monday's schedule has Franklin Pierce at Evergreen and Lindbergh at Foster at the same time and Tuesday Highline hosts Orting and Tyee goes to Clover Park, also at 7:15 p.m.
Kennedy Catholic entertains Graham Kapowsin at 7:15 p.m. this Wednesday and Monday Mount Rainier gets a visit from Federal Way at the same time as Kennedy hosts Auburn Mountainview.
Girls soccer
Evergreen goes to Foss for a 6 p.m. match Thursday and Foster goes to Washington at 7 p.m.
Foster drops in on Tyee at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Valley Ridge and Tuesday Evergreen hosts Lindbergh at 3:30 p.m. at Valley Ridge. Foster visits Foss at Mount Tahoma at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Tyee, meanwhile, is at Clover Park and Highline at Orting at 7 p.m. this Thursday with Highline entertaining Seattle Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Rainier High School's field.
Tuesday Tyee is at Steilacoom and Highline at River Ridge for 7 p.m. matches.
This Thursday Chief Sealth entertains Cleveland and West Seattle goes to Ingraham for 4:30 p.m. action and at 4 p.m. Tuesday West Seattle hosts Garfield with Chief Sealth dropping in on Nathan Hale at 4:30 p.m.
Mount Rainier gets a 7:30 p.m. Thursday visit from Kentlake at Highline Memorial as Kennedy travels to Kentwood and Tuesday Mount Rainier hosts Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. at Highline Memorial.
Pros
Seahawks
Seattle will be seeking to bounce back from its opening 17-9 loss at Green Bay when it hosts San Francisco for a 1:25 p.m. game at CenturyLink Field this Sunday.
The action can be seen live on Channel 13 television.
Mariners
Seattle is in Texas playing Chief Sealth graduate Keone Kela, Thomas Jefferson graduate Tony Barnette and the Rangers at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Both teams are in the thick of the American League wild card chase.
The Mariners go on to Houston to play the Astros at 5:10 p.m. Friday, 4:10 p.m. Saturday and 11:10 a.m. Sunday before coming home to Safeco Field to play Texas again at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday.
All Mariners games are carried on ROOT Sports cable television.
Sounders
Seattle visits Dallas for a 5 p.m. Major League Soccer match this Saturday that can be seen on JOEtv.
Emerald Downs
The Auburn horse racing oval is open for action at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday being the last day of the 2017 season.
Reign
Seattle's women's soccer team is off until Sept. 24 when it hosts Kansas City at 6 p.m. at Seattle Memorial Stadium.
Colleges
Husky football
The University of Washington gets a 6:30 p.m. visit from Fresno State at Husky Stadium this Saturday with the Pac-12 network showing the game live.
Cougar football
Washington State University will be at home in Pullman playing the Oregon State Beavers at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, also on the Pac-12 network.
Husky volleyball
Washington hosts Oklahoma for a 1 p.m. match Thursday before dropping in on Maryland at 4 p.m. Friday.
Kennedy graduate and West Seattle resident Shayne McPherson is a member of the Huskies' team.
