BURIEN - Dominating defense qualified West Seattle for the 2017 Sterling Christmas Shootout championship game in a 64-40 boys basketball defeat of Woodinville on Wed., Dec, 27, at Kennedy Catholic High School.
"We really try to play hard defense," said Wildcat coach Keffrey Fazio. "Our rule is to hold the other team to 40 points."
West Seattle broke away from a 9-9 draw to build a 31-12 lead.
With Wildcat defenders suffocating and nearly nullifying their 3-point shooters, the Falcons were unable to cope with the WS intensity as the Wildcats liberally fit in substitutions like interchangeable parts in a smooth, basic basketball drill scenario.
Marcus Collins and Elijah Nnabu each scored 15 points. Anthony Giomi recorded 11 Wildcat points.
