The house-rescuing/moving firm Nickel Bros saved a West Seattle house from demolition on Saturday Jan 20. The site where it once was will be the site of SolTerra’s residential development called Perch.
You can read more about the project here http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/AppDocs/GroupMeetings/DRProposal3020640AgendaID5609.pdf
The 55-year-old house located at 1262 Alki Ave SW was trucked off site around just after 12:30am traveling along Alki Ave SW and ending up at the Don Armeni Boat Ramp where a barge was set up and the house was loaded onto it around 5am.
Nickel Bros said that the house will be going to a new owner located in British Columbia, Canada.
Nickel Bros said the developer asked them to try to find new owners for other houses at the project site too.
