McPhee reaches milestone
Mount Rainier High School graduate Brittany McPhee reached the 1,000-point mark for her career at Stanford University in a 74-50 victory over Arizona State University on Friday, Jan. 26.
McPhee needed only 12 points to reach that mark and finished with 24 points.
She added three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
McPhee, a senior, also scored 12 points in a 59-55 victory over USC on Friday, Jan. 19 with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks and hit five points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in a 64-53 loss to UCLA two days later.
She scored 15 with four rebounds and one assist in a 79-42 victory over Arizona on Sunday, Jan. 28.
Jordan leading Seattle Pacific
Brittany McPhee's twin sister Jordan is leading the Seattle Pacific University women's basketball team this winter with her average of 14.5 points per game.
She is also averaging 5.6 rebounds and has a total of 42 assists, 19 blocks and 42 steals.
Jordan McPhee is also a senior out of Mount Rainier High School.
Giomi plays part time for Ducks
West Seattle High School graduate Lydia Giomi is averaging 5.5 minutes of play per game as a redshirt freshman for the University of Oregon women's basketball team.
Giomi has scored a total of 19 points for an average of 1.2 points per game. She is also averaging 1.6 rebounds and has a total of two assists, three steals and five blocks.
Giomi stands at 6-foot, 6-inches tall.
