West Seattle suvived the loser-out first round of Sea-King District basketball tournament action on both the boys and girls side Saturday, but the Ballard girls bowed out with a loss.
The West Seattle girls scored a 67-55 victory over Mercer Island at the Wildcats' home gym, then the boys took the floor and defeated Lake Washington by a 46-36 margin.
Both teams are out of loser-out games for now.
The girls go to Sammamish High School in Bellevue for a 3:30 p.m. Tuesday game against Seattle Prep ahead of a 5 p.m. boys game against Rainier Beach.
But the Ballard girls will not go on after losing to Rainier Beach on Saturday, 61-47. Ballard hosted that game.
