West Seattle gained revenge on the Garfield girls by beating the Bulldogs, 56-53, in a state Class 3A regional played at Bellevue College Saturday.
The win advanced the Wildcats directly into a state quarterfinal on Thursday while knocking Garfield into a loser out state opener Wednesday.
West Seattle plays a 7:15 p.m. Thursday game under the lights at the Tacoma Dome. The tournament runs through Saturday.
West Seattle defeated the Bulldogs during the regular season but lost to them in the Metro League championship tournament.
The once No. 2-ranked Wildcats were knocked to the No. 7 state regional seed and Garfield was No. 3.
But the Wildcats turned the tables on the Bulldogs Saturday.
