Tue, 04/17/2018
Food Lifeline is searching for volunteers for Stamp Out Hunger 2018.
Post offices across the Puget Sound region are participating in the food drive, starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.
In West Seattle, volunteers are needed at the West Seattle Post Office: 4412 California Ave. SW Seattle, WA 98116 and Westwood Post Office: 2721 SW Trenton St. Seattle WA, 98126.
Volunteers need to be 16 years or older and comfortable standing on their feet for several hours.
Stamp Out Hunger is celebrating 26 years. This is the largest single-day food drive in the U.S. and is once again taking place here in Western Washington, created by the National Association of Letter Carriers in response to the need they saw every day on their routes.
Known for its distinctive blue plastic bags, Stamp Out Hunger helps fill the shelves of local food banks, shelters and meal programs across Western Washington.
While one bag of food may seem small, a little goes a long way and Stamp Out Hunger succeeds every year thanks to the donations of generous neighbors like you.
