It was a great day on the diamond for West Seattle High School.

The Wildcats blanked Ingraham by a 2-0 score in its Metro League baseball playoff Monday as the girls fastpitch softball team blasted Ballard, 14-2.

The baseball game took place at Mel Olson Stadium at Steve Cox Memorial Park and the fastpitch game at the nearby Southwest Athletic Complex.

The West Seattle baseball team returns to Mel Olson to play Garfield at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Ballard received a first and second round bye in the baseball playoffs and takes on Eastside Catholic at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mel Olson.
