Four local teams – two each in boys soccer and girls fastpitch softball – were eliminated in Metro League playoff action Monday.
The Ballard boys soccer team was edged by Garfield, 1-0, in a double-header at the Southwest Athletic Complex that also included a 2-0 loss by West Seattle to O’Dea.
Garfield and O’Dea advance to play each other Wednesday.
In the Metro League fastpitch playoffs, meanwhile, Ballard took a narrow 7-5 loss to Nathan Hale and the Chief Sealth team took a 15-0 beating at the hands of Garfield.
West Seattle drew a first round bye in the playoffs and opens with a 4 p.m. Tuesday game against Nathan Hale at the Southeast Athletic Complex located next to Rainier Beach High School.
Evergreen and Tyee met in a non-league fastpitch game Monday with the Wolverines topping the Totems by a 2-0 score.
