Next week the 1927 vintage Admiral Way Bridge, over West Seattle’s Fairmount Ravine, will undergo structural testing
What you can expect.
Single lane closures with brief full bridge closures on August 1 and August 4, to accommodate equipment and support staff. The work is divided into four phases.
Phase I – South bridge below deck equipment setup.
Monday, July 30 & Tuesday, July 31 (7 AM – 4 PM)
We will close the outer EB lane. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will not be restricted.
Phase II – South bridge live load testing.
Wednesday, August 1 (7 AM – ~4 PM)
We fully close the bridge for multiple 5-minute time periods. When testing is complete, the outer EB lane will be closed for crews to remove sensors.
Phase III – North bridge below deck equipment setup.
Thursday, August 2 & Friday, August 3 (7 AM – 4 PM)
We will close the outer WB lane. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will not be restricted.
Phase IV – North bridge live load testing.
Saturday, August 4 (7 AM – 4 PM)
We fully close the bridge for multiple 5-minute time periods. When testing is complete, the outer WB lane will be closed for crews to remove sensors.
Monday, August 6 (TBD)
Crews may need to close travel lanes to wrap up testing.
