West Seattle Nursery has been awarded a Gold Medal for their display garden at the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival now running through Feb. 24 at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle.
In keeping with the festival's theme "Gardens of the World" West Seattle Nursery created a garden display called "Patterns of Peace on Earth" that incorporates plants and design elements from the nation of Ghana.
Designed by the staff the garden was constructed in cooperation with partner Devonshire Landscapes. It incorporates a water feature, a stream over rocks, and many plants native to that country. Also included is a representation of a traditional Larabanga Mosque.
