To our West Seattle community,
Your Seattle Police officers are working tirelessly in keeping our community members safe during the COVID-19 virus pandemic. Please know that we are working with state and local government, as well as with top medical personnel with the sole intent of keeping our communities safe. I encourage all of you to continue the West Seattle spirit of looking out for one another and maintaining that strong police community partnership that West Seattle is known for. That said, it is imperative that we adhere to the direction of our state and local leaders. This means ensuring that we all are doing our very best in following some basic and very specific protocols, such as:
- Adhere to Social distancing suggestions.
- If you are feeling ill, stay at home.
- Avoid social gatherings.
- Use pick-up or delivery options.
- Practice good hygiene by frequently washing hands.
- Disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as often as possible.
By adhering to these fundamental recommendations, we have a better chance of slowing the virus’ rate of spread. Your officers are committed to our community and will continue to provide high quality services to ensure public safety. Your officers will also continue to be safe and cautious while adhering to all protocols and warnings related to their own hygiene and personal protective measures. In addition, the Southwest precinct’s lobby and community space has been closed to public use. However, you may still be able to communicate with our desk officer via the outside phone or report crimes via the SPD on-line reporting option. https://www.seattle.gov/police/need-help
Please know that your officers will continue to be on the front lines, responding to emergencies and actively patrolling our various neighborhoods and business districts.
Please stay safe and healthy as we get through this emergency together.
Best,
Captain Pierre Davis
Commander, Southwest Precinct
