Locöl Barley and Vine at 7904 35th SW, became regionally well known a decade ago when shortly after they opened they started producing gourmet style small plates and high end beers and wines at reasonable prices, but they became a community classic once they started supporting local musicians in what is admittedly a tiny venue.
With the onset of the pandemic, they, like many others had to shift gears into take out but something more was missing than just the hundreds of people they would typically serve nightly. It was the live music.
Now that missing element is coming back and yes, you can be part of it. Though not in person.
Locol announced on Thursday that beginning Friday, April 24 in association with Seattle Cider they will feature live music from Locol on their respective Facebook pages.
Just visit either or both pages and like them to get notifications as to when they will go live.
The music starts at 8:30 on Friday nights.
First up is northwest favorite Norman Baker. In the following weeks you can hear Anna St. Lee and Arthur James.
General Manager Scott Maybanks said, "We have a long history of supporting local music and this way we can offer it to our customers and even support the musicians," What he is referring to is not just that they will be paid, but that viewers can even send a small tip to the musicians using Venmo. For Anna St. Lee it's Venmo: @annasteinle and for Arthur James it's @Art-Lipatan.
"Come grab some food from Locöl sit down on your couch and tune in for a live stream of Locöl artists doing what they did before," said Maybanks.
Locöl is open Monday through Saturday from 4 to 8pm for take out. Seattle Cider is open from 3pm to 7pm seven days a week.
This is so cool!! Seattle Cider and Locol are partners in keeping feeling good!!
