Some bus stops in the Metro service area have been closed. Blame the pandemic for low ridership.

If you have been out in the community you may have noticed that a local bus stop has been closed. We inquired with King County Metro's Chris Arkills and he offered an explanation for the closures of two that run through Gatewood.
"The Route 22 and 37 are both part of a family of routes that have been suspended during COVID. Many of these routes only run during commuter hours or intermittently during the day. Many of these routes see very low ridership outside of commute hours
Given Metro's challenges with our workforce and financing during the pandemic, we were forced to suspend some routes. Route 37 riders still have access to the 50 and the Water Taxi shuttle for parts of that route. Route 22 riders have access to the 21, 21X, and C Line for much of that route. It is unfortunate, but we need to focus on moving the most people with the resources and workforce we have right now. As we emerge from the pandemic, it is likely they will be restored."
