Leaning into the roots of Summer Fest, which actually started in 1982 as the Sidewalk Sale, we’re going back to the deep West Seattle beginnings as the foundation of this year’s festival. The old guard West Seattleites will remember merchants merrily filling tables loaded down with deep discounts and one-of-a-kind treasures on tables lining the streets.

This year we’ll go way back to the 80’s bringing back the Sidewalk Sales (no street closures) July 9 and 10, lining California Ave with goods from the merchants, plus local and handmade artisans.

In addition to the Sidewalk Sales on July 9 and 10, you'll be able to dig into the spirit of the festival through a variety of programming. All of the kits come complete with a Summer Fest earth-friendly tote bag.

The Thursday night of Summer Fest is for the locals and always falls on the July Art Walk second Thursday. To bring the lively spirit of the day to your fingertips the Paint and Sip kit is a guaranteed way to experience a fun evening. The kit will be filled with artist supplies, a full bottle of wine (!), a special 2021 keepsake glass, plus nibbles from around the Junction. Join artist Anjl Rodee, owner of BrushCapadeson Thursday, July 8th at either 5 PM or 7 PM for a virtually guided lesson. She'll help you fill your canvas with a choice of two very West Seattle scenes. $70

We may not be able to offer LIVE music this year, but that won't stop the beat. Hosted by Pegasus Books, gather your teams together for a very LIVEly music trivia night on Friday, July 9th, 7:30 PM. If you've attended any of their virtual trivia nights, you know you'll be in for quite a brain twister. Teams up to 6 members (in multiple households is okay). $25

Miss the beer garden? That's okay, we've got you! Buy the Beer Garden kit! Join Elliott Bay Brewing and The Beer Junction on Saturday, July 10th for a virtual beer tasting. Carefully curated beers selected by the beer bosses themselves, along with a selection of cheeses, cured meats, and caramel corn from Husky Deli, this is a hoppy hour for the beer lovers. The kit is completed with a 2021 keepsake taser glass, and some surprise additions revealed upon opening. $55

Summer Fest is for the kiddos! A Summer Fest tote bag filled to the brim with all the joy of the festival. The kids' Summer Fest tote bag will have two crafts, including a balloon animal kit, sidewalk chalk, treats from the Junction, books, puzzles, and bubbles (we'll certainly miss BubbleMan this year). $35

Each kit will be filled with summery treats from around the Junction, packed into a keepsake reusable earth-friendly tote bag.
