With the pending reopening of the West Seattle Bridge likely as the Seattle Department of Transportation has projected as "mid-summer" the potential impacts on West Seattle are many, ranging from real estate prices, to attendance at summerfest, to tourism. The West Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the West Seattle Junction Association are teaming up to host a community brainstorming session to help explore ideas, and recruit committee members on how best to celebrate this momentous event. They shared their public invitation with the media:
The West Seattle Chamber & West Seattle Junction Association are inviting our community stakeholders to join us for a brainstorming meeting to plan a community celebration for the reopening of the West Seattle Bridge. We invite you to join us virtually on Monday, January 24th from 12noon-1pm to ideate how to best celebrate reconnecting West Seattle with downtown and welcoming visitors back to the peninsula!
Join us to discuss the most impactful ways to mark this historical event and get involved on a committee which will help to bring this campaign to life. Our task force will be comprised of six committees, and we will need your talents in the following areas:
1. Marketing Committee
2. Sponsorship Committee
3. Community Relations Committee
4. Events Committee
5. Advisory Committee
6. Executive Committee
