Highline's Hovland now a Husky
Highline High School graduate Nick Hovland is now playing for the University of Washington baseball team as a junior after wrapping up two years at Bellevue College.
Hovland is 1-for-6 batting for the Huskies in the early going on a double.
He stands at 6-foot, 4-inches and plays in the infield.
Leonard returns at Washington State
Ballard graduate Owen Leonard is back in the bullpen for the Washington State University baseball team.
Leonard is a graduate student still eligible for a sixth season because of a red shirt year and Covid.
Leonard stands at 6-0 and came to the Cougars by way of Pacific of Oregon and Everett College.
Pryor, Aggies enter WAC tournament
West Seattle graduate Nate Pryor and the New Mexico State men's basketball team enter the Western Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.
The Aggies first play an opponent to be determined in a 6 p.m. Friday game in Las Vegas.
Seattle University is the No. 2 seed.
Pryor is in his second junior season because of Covid and transferred in from the University of Washington.
He is a 6-4 point guard.
Pryor played 19 minutes in a 62-46 victory over Utah Valley in the Aggies' regular season finale, scoring four points with four assists and three rebounds.
He averaged 3.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 17 games played
Sarver averages 1.8 points for WSU
West Seattle graduate Grace Sarver averaged 1.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.5 steals playing guard for the Washington State University women's basketball team.
Sarver is a junior for the Cougars.
WSU was eliminated from last week's Pac-12 tournament and is awaiting further action.
T-Birds await postseason tournament
Highline College in Des Moines is awaiting postseason tournament action March 26-27 after just concluding its regular season Wednesday.
The Thunderbirds' roster includes Foster graduate Jalen Fayson as a 6-6 sophomore wing and Mount Rainier graduate Ricky Bell as a 5-9 freshman guard.
Green River boasts two area grads
Two area graduates are now playing baseball at Green River College in Auburn.
Mount Rainier graduate Dom Pangelinan is a 6-0 freshman catcher and Kennedy Catholic graduate Ryan Etzkorn is a 6-3 freshman pitcher.
