Ballard enters the Sea-King District tournament Thursday, taking on Blanchet in a 3:30 p.m. game at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
Win or lose, the Beavers will play at least one more game Friday.
West Seattle finds itself in the same situation after defeating Chief Sealth in a loser-out game Tuesday, 12-5.
The Wildcats play Lake Washington at the same time on the SWAC's other diamond.
Evergreen, Highline and Tyee all open 2A District action Friday with loser-out games at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.
The Wolverines play Washington in a noon game while Highline and Tyee both play at 2 p.m.
The Pirates are pitted against Franklin Pierce while the Totems are going up against North Mason.

West Seattle needs to win two loser-out games in state regional action Saturday in order to reach next week's state semifinals.
The Wildcats begin their quest at 10 a.m., playing Stanwood or Kelso at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
Their next game would take place in the afternoon at the same stadium.

Seattle wraps up its three-game series in Toronto with a 4:07 p.m. Wednesday game before going to Boston for four games against the Red Sox.
The action starts at 4:10 p.m. Thursday and Friday our time ahead of a 1:10 p.m. game Saturday and a 10:35 a.m. contest Sunday.
The Mariners come home to T-Mobile Park to play the Oakland A's at 6:40 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Seattle visits Houston for a 5:30 p.m. Wednesday soccer match before going to Colorado for 5 p.m. Sunday action.

The Seattle-based women's soccer team gets a 3 p.m. Sunday visit from Washington at Lumen Field with Paramount+ airing the action.
