Closed since March of 2020, the West Seattle bridge has had more than 100 million dollars of remediation and repair work done and is set to reopen this summer. This is the bridge as it appeared in July 2020 after work to prevent collapse was done and just before repairs and updates were begun.

The Seattle Department of Transportation is holding what they expect to be their last of a 2 year series of meetings today at 4pm with the Community Task Force set up in June of 2020 following the closure of the West Seattle Bridge. They've said previously that they would provide "30 days notice" and that the reopening would take place "mid-year" which technically means July 2. That date is now highly unlikely.
SDOT has said they will be replacing 60 concrete panels from Fauntleroy Expressway to 35th and repairing holes on the bridge, plus repainting lane dividers and red bus lane markings. Some of that work is weather dependent.
The meeting will offer an updated timeline and discussion of the schedule risks, some information about continuing post tensioning of the steel cables that were installed during the repair process and bridge safety.
The effort to re-route people to others means of getting around called Reconnect West Seattle will be summarized and the next steps explained.
