Dan Austin, owner of Peel and Press in the Morgan Junction and the Flight Path Tavern in Boulevard Park has been named the West Seattle Parade Grand Marshall.

The West Seattle Grand Parade, which up until the pandemic occurred annually since 1935, is hosted by the West Seattle Rotary Service Foundation and is one of the oldest and most beloved community events in the Seattle area.
The Grand Marshall this year is Dan Austin, owner of Peel and Press in the Morgan Junction and the Flight Path Tavern in Boulevard Park.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be chosen as Grand Marshall,” Austin said, “I’m currently practicing my parade wave and looking forward to seeing many of my friends and neighbors on the parade route.

The West Seattle Grand Parade celebrates the diverse community and participants of the greater Seattle area and is a proud member of the Seafair community of events which includes the pirates, clowns, marching bands, drill teams, floats, pageantry and excitement that leads up to the Seafair Torchlight Parade the following weekend.
The parade starts at 11am in the Admral District near SW Lander Street and heads south toward the West Seattle Junction along California Ave SW.
More than 60 entrants including motorcycle drill teams, community based marching drill teams, floats from around the region, the Seafair Clowns, Seafair Pirates and many community organizations will take part.
