The 2022 Washington State Book Awards finalists were recently announced (see the announcement here), and two West Seattle-based authors are among them! "Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit" by Lyanda Lynn Haupt (Little, Brown) is a finalist in the Creative Nonfiction category, and "Orca Rescue! The true story of an orphaned orca named Springer" by Donna Sandstrom (Kids Can Press) is a finalist for Books for Young Readers. Winners will be announced September 13th.
