Information from Seattle Public Utilities
On January 26, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) responded to a sewer overflow at 5080 Beach Dr SW. Approximately, 4,000 gallons of sewage reached the public drainage system that leads to Puget Sound.
SPU crews quickly installed a pump and bypass system to stop the flow.
The beach is not closed to water activities; we are sending this message simply to make people aware.
If you find flooding or sewer backups, please report them to the SPU 24/7 Operations Response Center at (206) 386-1800.
