Spring sports
Spring sports practices got underway this week, with the first competitive action scheduled for Saturday, March 11. Most openers are the following week.
Offerings in the area include baseball, boys soccer, girls fastpitch softball, girls tennis and boys and girls track and field.

Kraken
Seattle visits Detroit for 4 p.m. National Hockey League action Thursday before dropping in on Columbus at the same time Friday.
The Kraken travel to Colorado for a 6 p.m. Sunday clash and come home to Climate Pledge Arena to face Anaheim at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
ROOT Sports Northwest will televise all but Tuesday's game, which will be on ESPN+ and Hulu.
Sounders
Seattle hosts Salt Lake for a 7:30 p.m. Saturday men's soccer match at Lumen Field.
Apple TV+ will air the action live.
Mariners
Spring training in Arizona continues for Seattle, with the team visiting the Chicago Cubs at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday before hosting San Diego at 12:10 p.m. Thursday in Peoria.
Seattle visits the Arizona Diamondbacks at 12:10 p.m. Friday, hosts Colorado at 12:10 p.m. Saturday and visits Milwaukee at 12:10 p.m. Sunday before entertaining the Cubs at 12:10 p.m. Monday and taking Tuesday off.
Saturday's action will be shown on ROOT Sports Northwest.

Seattle's XFL squad visits Vegas for a 4 p.m. Saturday game carried on FX.
Seawolves
Seattle visits Dallas for 5:05 p.m. Friday Major League Rugby action on ROOT Sports Northwest.
Thunderbirds
Seattle drops in on the Tri-City Americans at 7:05 p.m. Friday and visits the Everett Silvertips at 6:05 p.m. Saturday before hosting the Americans at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at the Showare Center in Kent.
The Kamloops Blazers come to Kent at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
Stars
Tacoma visits the Dallas Sidekicks at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the Mesquite Outlaws at 4:05 p.m. Saturday.

Husky vs. Cougar men
Washington hosts Washington State for an 8 p.m. Thursday game on ESPNU.
Husky women
Washington opens Pac-12 tournament play with a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday game against Oregon in Las Vegas.
The Pac-12 network will show the game live.
Cougar women
West Seattle graduate Grace Sarver and the Cougars will take on California in their Pac-12 tournament opener at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Las Vegas on the Pac-12 network.
Bulldog men
Gonzaga hosts Chicago State at 6 p.m. Wednesday on ROOT Plus.
Bulldog women
Gonzaga plays in the West Coast Conference tournament that runs Thursday through Tuesday in Las Vegas.
Redhawk men
Seattle University visits Utah Tech for a 6 p.m. Wednesday game before hosting UT Arlington at 7 p.m. Friday.
ESPN+ will carry both games.

Seattle visits ACU at 4 p.m. Thursday on ESPN+.
Falcon men
Seattle Pacific University plays Northwest Nazarene at 12 p.m. Thursday at Western Washington University's Carver Gym to open the GNAC tournament.

SPU meets Alaska Anchorage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the GNAC tournament at Western Washington.
Husky baseball
Washington entertains Northern Colorado for a 6 p.m. Friday game and a 12:05 p.m. Saturday doubleheader ahead of a 1:05 p.m. Sunday clash.
The Huskies visit Portland at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Husky softball
Washington travels to Phoenix to play Michigan State at 10 a.m. Friday and Boise State at 12:30 p.m. Friday before taking on New Mexico at 10 a.m. Saturday and Charlotte at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
