One person was shot to death at the Don Armeni boat launch in the early morning hours of May 28.
Around 4am Seattle Police responded to reports of a shooting and found one adult male shot on the sidewalk near the south end of the boat launch parking lot.
A witness across the street heard fireworks around 1:20 am and saw three figures shooting what appeared to be bottle rockets across Harbor Ave at the buildings. Around 1:30am he heard a brief argument then a series seven or eight quick pops, like gunfire. A blue sedan, "rounded shape" sped away from the scene southbound, with no lights. Then around 4 am the Phoenix security crew came to open the gates and apparently discovered a male laying on the sidewalk. The security guard tried to apply CPR but to no avail and then called 911. The police arrived then the homicide detectives, then the medical examiner. The man appeared to be in his mid-forties. There were evidence markers on the scene showing shell casing locations. The park was reopened a couple of hours later.
