Caviezel film released July 4
Former Kennedy basketball standout Jim Caviezel is starring in a different realm now days.
He is a well known actor in mostly Christian films.
The man best known for his portrayal of Jesus in "The Passion of Christ" is now in a new film called "Sound of Freedom" that will hit theaters July 4.
Caviezel spoke in a streamed promotional Wednesday by Angel Studios, which put out the film.
"The Voice spoke to me and asked me to become an actor," he said, later adding that "When God tells you what to do you don't hesitate."
In his latest film Caviezel plays in the role of Tim Ballard, who works to battle the trafficking of children particularly at the border between the United States and Mexico.
"If they are going to hurt these children, I use my weapon, to be an actor," Caviezel said. "God's children are not for sale. I see Jesus in these children."
Caviezel called "Sound of Freedom" his most important film since "The Passion of Christ."
"It's right up there with The Passion," he said. "This film is top, top, top. I guarantee it."
McCullough in Arkansas
West Seattle graduate Morgan McCullough is now playing for Northwest Arkansas, the Class AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals organization.
McCullough, originally a shortstop, is also seeing time at second and third base.
McCullough made the minor league video highlights this week for a wild diving catch barely in foul territory down the third base line.
It can currently be found online under the entries for his name.
