Lake Stevens 44, Kennedy Catholic 21
For the second season in a row the Lancers' season ended with a loss to Lake Stevens, only this time it came a little earlier.
Last year they fell to the Vikings in the state Class 4A championship game played at Mount Thomas.
This year's loss came in the state quarterfinals by a 44-21 score at Lake Stevens Friday.
Kennedy Catholic finished with a 10-2 overall record.
Enumclaw 41, Highline 30
Highline also came up short in a state quarterfinal Friday to finish at 10-2 overall.
The Pirates took their Class 2A loss at Enumclaw's Pete's Pool.
Highline's only previous loss was to Class 4A Kennedy Catholic by just seven points.
Volleyball
Kennedy Catholic
The Lancers recovered from an opening 3-0 loss to Puyallup to win their next three matches to take seventh place in the state Class 4A tournament.
Kennedy Catholic won by 3-0 scores over Skyline, Tahoma and West Valley of Yakima.
West Seattle
West Seattle also made the trip to the Yakima Valley Sundome for state, but took a 3-0 loss to Shorewood before being edged by Peninsula, 3-2.
The Wildcats were playing in the Class 3A tournament.
