McCullough with Mariners
West Seattle's Morgan McCullough was originally drafted out of high school by the hometown Seattle Mariners.
He opted to go to college instead.
McCullough took a round about way to get there, but now he is in the Mariners organization as an infielder.
He signed on to likely start off with the Class AA affiliated Arkansas Travelers.
McCullough comes to the Mariners from the Kansas City Royals organization, where he played AA ball at the end of last year after starting off in High A action.
He batted .245 overall last year in 286 at bats with seven home runs, 31 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
McCullough's previous minor league stops were with the independent Kansas City Monarchs and in the Los Angeles Angels organization.
The Angels drafted him out of the University of Alabama. He spent one year with the Crimson Tide after starting off one year at Oregon and one year of Junior College ball in Florida.
Kela now pitching in Mexico
Chief Sealth graduate Keone Kela's road back from injuries has taken him to the Mexican League, where he plays for Tecolotes de los Dos Laradas.
The right-hander previously played Major League Baseball for the Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres.
Kela was also drafted by the Mariners out of high school before playing one year at Everett College and being selected and signed by Texas.
Ramstad rows for Huskies
Ballard graduate Henry Ramstad is a member of the University of Washington men's rowing team as a redshirt sophomore.
The Huskies are hosting their 123rd Class Day Regatta starting at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Montlake Cut.
Gardner plays at UW
Chief Sealth graduate Jing Gardner is now a freshman utility player for the University of Washington women's fastpitch softball squad.
Nguyen back at Northwestern
West Seattle graduate Lauryn Nguyen returns for her junior season aa a standout for the Northwestern University women's golf team in Illinois.
Knox golfs for Huskies
Mount Rainier graduate Kennedy Knox is a junior standout for the women's golf team at the University of Washington.
Gosztola at Gonzaga
West Seattle graduate Miles Gosztola finds himself being a freshman left-handed pitcher at Gonzaga University in Spokane.
Lockwood with Everett
Jake Lockwood, another West Seattle graduate, is a freshman catcher at Everett College.
Sandvik also at Everett
Des Moines resident and Blanchet graduate Blake Sandvik is also a freshman at Everett College.
He is a right-handed pitcher.
