Coutts, UW host spring game
Ballard graduate Owen Coutts and the University of Washington football team are hosting their annual spring game starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Admission is free.
Coutts is a returning junior wide receiver who stands at 6-foot, 4-inches and weighs 217 pounds.
Coutts wears jersey No. 82.
Huard transferring again
Kennedy Catholic graduate Sam Huard is on the move once more.
For the second straight year he is entering the transfer portal, this time leaving Cal Poly after one season with the Mustangs.
Last year he transferred there after two seasons at the University of Washington, rejoining his high school coach.
Sheldon Cross was the offensive coordinator for Cal Poly, but now he is headed to Florida to be the offensive coordinator at Stetson.
It is not known yet if Huard, a five-star recruit at quarterback, will follow.
Huard completed 184 of 303 pass attempts for the Mustangs, amassing 2,247 yards and scoring 18 touchdowns.
Cal Poly is a Big Sky Conference school.
The left-handed Huard has two years of eligibility remaining.
McCullough batting .278
West Seattle graduate Morgan McCullough is batting for a .278 average over his first 36 at bats this year for the Class AA Arkansas Travelers of the Seattle Mariners' organization.
McCullough, who plays shortstop as well as third base and second base, has one home run, five RBI and three stolen bases.
Gonzaga's Gosztola goes 2-2
West Seattle graduate Miles Gosztola has posted a 2-2 record so far pitching for Gonzaga University in Spokane.
The lefty has a 6.04 earned run average over 28 innings of work in his true freshman season.
