The Wolverines journeyed all the way across the state to Pullman for a Wednesday afternoon state Class 2A opening match, only to suffer a season-ending loss.
Ballard 2, Stadium 1
Ballard outlasted its visitors from Tacoma in its Class 3A state opener Tuesday.
The Beavers advance to a Friday quarterfinal, paying a 7 p.m. visit to Central Kitsap in Silverdale.
Camas 3, Mt. Rainier 2
Mount Rainier saw its season end with Tuesday's loss at Doc Harris Stadium in Vancouver. It was the Rams' Class 4A state opener.
Evergreen 3, White River 1
Evergreen enjoyed a state-qualifying victory over the Hornets this past Saturday.
North Kitsap 6, Foster 0
Foster went down to defeat in Saturday's playoff played at Franklin Pierce.
Seattle Prep 2, Ballard 1
The Beavers were edged in Friday's Metro League playoff final.

The Beavers bumped off Liberty in a Tuesday Sea-King District tournament game.
Next up is a 4 p.m. Friday meeting with Garfield at Juanita.
