West Seattle 10, Mountlake Terrace 9
West Seattle earned a trip to Pasco for the state Class 3A semifinals by outslugging Mountlake Terrace in a Saturday regional championship.
The Wildcats play Metro League rival Eastside Catholic at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Gesa Stadium.
The winner returns for the state championship game at the same time and place Saturday and the loser plays for third and fourth at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
Mountlake Terrace proved to be a tough foe in this Saturday's game played at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
West Seattle scored three runs in the top of the seventh and final inning for a 10-5 lead, then held on as Mountlake Terrace railed for four runs in the bottom half of the frame.
West Seattle 2, Peninsula 1
West Seattle followed up on its Metro League playoff title the week before by edging the Seahawks of Purdy in its first regional game Saturday.
Edmonds-Woodway 5, Ballard 4
The Beavers came up one run short in their regional played Saturday morning at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
Ballard's season ended with the loss.
Boys soccer
Ballard 2, Edmonds-Woodway 0
Ballard blanked Edmonds-Woodway in a state Class 3A quarterfinal Saturday, landing a berth into next week's semifinals at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.
The Beavers play Lake Washington at 4 p.m. Friday.
The winner plays for the state title at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and the loser plays for third at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
Ballard 2, Central Kitsap 0
The Beavers shut down the host Cougars of Silverdale in their round of 16 match Friday.
Ballard was coming off a 2-1 win over Stadium of Tacoma in a Tuesday state play-in match.

Ballard 11, Juanita 8
Ballard slugged its way past the host Rebels of Kirkland in Friday's District 2 tournament championship.
The Beavers will travel to the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey for the state tournament that opens Thursday and runs through Saturday.
The state draw has yet to take place.
Ballard 8, Garfield 7
The Beavers beat the Bulldogs in a Friday afternoon district semifinal.
Kentridge 7, Kennedy 0
Kennedy Catholic saw its season end with Friday's loss at the Kent Service Club in the Class 4A District 3/4 tournament.
Emerald Ridge 10, Kennedy 0
The Lancers also lost their Friday morning tournament opener.

Evergreen fell in a loser-out Class 2A District 2/3 tournament game played Friday morning at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.
