Baseball

West Seattle finds itself facing a familiar foe in an unfamiliar place Friday.

The Wildcats play Metro League rival Eastside Catholic in a 7 p.m. state Class 3A semifinal at distant Gesa Stadium in Pasco.

The winner plays the winner between Mount Vernon and Edmonds-Woodway for the championship at 7:15 p.m. Saturday and the losers play for third place at 12:45 p.m.

Softball

Ballard opens state Class 3A tournament action at 9 a.m. Friday at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey against Heritage or Mead.

The winner advances to a 3:30 p.m. state quarterfinal and the loser plays at 1:30 p.m.

The tournament runs through Saturday.

Boys soccer

Ballard plays Lake Washington in a 4:30 p.m. Class 3A state semifinal Friday at Puyallup's Sparks Stadium.

The winners play for the title at 6:30 p.m. Saturday against the winner between Garfield and Auburn Mountainview.

The losers play for third at 12:15 p.m.

Track and field

State meet action for Class 4A, 3A and 2A continues Friday and Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School's stadium in Tacoma.

Field events start at 9 a.m. Friday and running events at 11 a.m.

Both begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tennis

State Class 4A boys and girls action is taking place in Kennewick this Friday and Saturday, with Class 3A play in Vancouver and the 3A at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle.

Pros

Mariners

Seattle is in Washington playing the Nationals at 3:45 p.m. Friday, 1:05 p.m. Saturday and 10:35 a.m. Sunday.

The Mariners come home to T-Mobile Park to face the Houston Astros at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 1:10 p.m. Thursday.

ROOT Sports Northwest will televise the games.

Sounders

Seattle visits St. Louis for a 5:30 p.m. Saturday match before hosting Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lumen Field.

Both can be seen on Apple TV+.

Storm

Seattle entertains Washington at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Climate Pledge Arena before visiting Chicago at 5 p.m. Tuesday and Indiana at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Saturday and Tuesday's action will be aired on Fox 13+ and Thursday's on Channel 13.

Reign FC

Seattle visits Washington for a 4:30 p.m. Friday match on KONG.

Seawolves

Seattle hosts Old Glory DC for 7:30 p.m. Friday rugby at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila on Fox 13+.

Tacoma entertains the Las Vegas Aviators at 7:05 p.m. Friday, 6:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:35 p.m. Sunday at Cheney Stadium.

Everett gets visits from the Tri-City Dust Devils at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4:05 p.m. Sunday.

USL League Two soccer is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday as Ballard hosts Midlakes and West Seattle entertains Lane.
