Help Paint Sea Life Mural
Join Stacey Sterling, an Ocean Painter for a Sea life painting exploration. She will be setting up a painting booth during Summer Fest. She is looking for folks to help paint sea life murals. Everyone is welcome. Stacey encourages parents to come with their little ones. She will set you up with paints and brushes and you can do this fun activity together.
The painting will be about the marine animals and sealife of the Pacific Northwest. The mural painting will be located in Junction Plaza Park.
And these murals will be available for purchase after the festival with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local ocean conservation groups.
Help Make Summer Fest a Zero Waste Event.
West Seattle Junction has teamed up with Seattle Public Utilities and Bold Reuse to bring reusable drinkware, dishware, and serviceware to Summer Fest this year!
This is the first time a festival in the Seattle area is going all out with reusables on this scale! Let’s be the first to show other neighborhoods how it’s done. You’ll see clearly marked bins around the festival for returning your reusable items—just look for the signs that say, "Return reuse items here." And don’t worry, friendly volunteers will be around to help you sort everything into the right bins (garbage, recycling, compost, and reusables).
By switching to reusables, we’re keeping thousands of pounds of waste out of landfills and giving a big high-five to our planet. Plus, it’s a huge win for reducing carbon emissions and saving water.
Read more about this initiative on our website HERE.
It's not too late to volunteer for SUMMER FEST!
We are looking for teens 14 + to help out at the inflatables in the Kids Area. Consider donating a few hours toward your community service requirement.
Plus we will be pulling 4 names each day from the volunteer list to receive an awesome West Seattle Summer Fest SWAG BAG.
