West Seattle's wild ride back through the loser's bracket of the state age 8-10 Little League softball all-star tournament ended with a 12-1 loss to Woodinville Wednesday morning.
After opening the tournament held at Lions Park in Othello with a 5-1 loss to South Hill this past Sunday morning the Westsiders won their next two games to extend their Eastern Washington stay.
They pounded Glenwood by a 17-1 score Monday morning and overcame a 5-0 deficit to top Larch Mountain, 15-9, Tuesday morning.
Pitcher Grace Doull struck out 13 Larch Mountain hitters in that game.
But West Seattle ran out of steam against Woodinville Wednesday.
Major baseball
West Seattle met a similar fate playing at Aberdeen's Pioneer Park in the state Majors age 10-12 Little League baseball all-star tournament.
The Westsiders took an 8-0 loss to Pacific to open Saturday, but bounced back to beat Hazel Dell by a 3-2 margin Monday.
Gavin Ross won the game with a walk off single.
But West Seattle took a 10-0 loss to North Kitsap to be ousted from the tournament Tuesday.
