Update: Sept. 26.
The owners of Seattle Soul Kitchen shared their feelings about the death of their employee who was shot to death while at work, on Wednesday afternoon.
"Yesterday, we suffered a devastating loss to our team and family. One of our valued employees, a man who had become everything he aspired to be; an incredible father to three children and a true asset to the community. He was specifically targeted in this senseless Act of Violence and no words can fully express the depth of our pain or the impact this tragedy will have on yet another family and generation of children.
Gun violence continues to devastate our community, and while we are filled with grief, we are even more determined to press forward—not only in honor of our fallen brother but for the future generations who deserve a safer community. Gun violence must not be allowed to derail the progress of our community or our businesses. We stand firm in our belief that change is necessary, and we will continue to push for reform so that no more lives are lost in senseless acts of violence.
We call for peace in our streets and for an end to the violence. It's time to heal, time to put down the guns, and time to live for our families and friends. Gun violence cannot continue to steal from us, and we will not allow it to stop our mission or the work we do in our community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us during this incredibly difficult time. As we stand with our brother’s family, we kindly ask for privacy and understanding. We will share further updates as we move forward together.
Thank you for your concern and support.
Long live fast … Marathon Continues.."
